The store building of Emmert’s Corner, also known in the past as Emmert’s Drug Store, was built around the later years of the 1800s. It was operated as a drug store by Alois Ziliak, Jr. until 1893. John A. Emmert then purchased it, as owner and pharmacist that same year. Peter J. Emmert bought the business from his brother in 1913. John died in 1934 and Peter died in 1952. The owners in 1955 were the children of the late Peter J. Emmert.
The photo below shows Mary Rose Emmert Hunter, Bernard “Bernie” Emmert and Robert Emmert, 1955 operators of Emmert’s Corner.
