Looking for something new to read? Each month, we ask one of our staff about some books they would recommend. March’s picks come from youth coordinator Stephanie.
1. What is your favorite book you read last year?
The Only One Left by Riley Sager. This was a wonderfully suspenseful thriller with many twists. When a young woman troubled by recent events in her life runs out of options she takes a job caring for the town’s notorious accused murderer. But there is much more to both their stories than anyone knows. The twists keep you hooked and trying to solve the mysteries of the past and present in this fascinating story.
The Only One Left by Riley Sager is available at Fort Branch and Haubstadt branches and available on Libby as e-book or audiobook.
2. What is a children’s/junior book everyone should read?
The Monster at the End of This Book by Jon Stone. It is my favorite book of all time. I love this fun and interactive story about Sesame Street’s Grover. It is a fun book to read yourself but even better to read aloud to a child and let them interact with the story!
The Monster at the End of This Book by Jon Stone is available at the Fort Branch library.
3. What is an upcoming book you are looking forward to?
Sunrise on the Reaping by Suzanne Collins. I am looking forward to the latest installment of the Hunger Games series. This prequel to the original book will follow Haymitch during his Hunger Games. I can’t wait to learn more about this character and the drama his games held. It will be interesting to see what happened to cause him to become the man we met in the original Hunger Games story.
Sunrise on the Reaping by Suzanne Collins will be available at Fort Branch and Haubstadt branches and available on Libby as e-book or audiobook when it releases this week.
